There are numerous opportunities to work on campus. During the first week of classes in the Fall, the Campus Jobs Fair is held. Most on-campus jobs are posted on UMBCworks.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities

Many opportunities are available for student research in faculty labs in the science departments at UMBC. This research can be for credit (e.g., BIOL 499; CHEM 499, etc) or on a volunteer basis and many have monetary benefits. Go to www.umbc.edu/UGResearchOps for detail.

Interested in working for various departments with a flexible schedule? Contact Career Services Center to apply.

Leadership

Visit the Office of Student Life website for information on the SGA, SEB and other student organizations to get involved and/or gain leadership experience.

Learn about various community service programs through The Shriver Center or the Office of Student Life.

Entrepreneurship

The Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship and UMBC's Career Services Center have formed a partnership with SCORE, a nonprofit association dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs. Students seeking guidance and assistance in planning and launching their business should contact Vivian Armor in the Alex. Brown Center to set up appointments with SCORE counselors. Meetings will be held on campus.
