Employer Info Sessions/Corporate Visibility Days

An information session is an excellent way to make contact with, and hear about an organization from professionals who work there. You will obtain firsthand information from an employer, related to their functions, goals and hiring opportunities. Corporate Visibility Days are like information sessions but longer, typically with multiple sessions covering multiple topics related to the company. The benefit of Corp Vis Days is that they give you an in-depth look at the organization, as well as you have an opportunity to have meaningful networking conversations with multiple people from the company.

Both of these types of events are useful for getting your resume into the hands of recruiters (and hopefully getting an interview). Or if you already have an interview scheduled with the company, these sessions are a great resource to help you with your interview. If you have been selected for an On-Campus Interview with the organization, for a full-time position, you may be required to attend their info session.

On-Campus Interviews

Some companies looking to hire UMBC students choose to do their interviews on-campus. How convenient for you!? For a list of companies and the dates they are coming to campus you can check out the OCI Calendar on our website, or log into UMBCworks where you can search for positions and apply directly. After applying via UMBCworks, the employer selects who they want to interview. If you are selected to be interviewed, you are notified via email and will be able to select an interview time on the date the employer will be interviewing on-campus.

We also suggest attending company information sessions prior to interviews. These sessions are a great opportunity to meet recruiters before the interview and learn things about the company so you sound knowledgeable during your interview. If you have been selected to interview on-campus with an organization for a full-time position, you may be required to attend their info session.
